Commerce Password Policy

The following password policies apply to all users of the Inntopia Commerce systems (CRS and RMS):

The Inntopia Commerce system requires you to reset your password every 90 days using the following criteria:

  • Passwords must be at least seven characters.
  • Passwords must be a combination including at least one letter and at least one number.
  • New passwords cannot be the same as the four previous passwords.

The use of group, shared, or generic Commerce accounts and passwords is not supported. A unique user name and password combination is required for each Inntopia user. The reasons for this are:

  • There is a security risk when using shared credentials.
  • Shared credentials makes it impossible to identify one person as responsible for a certain action in Inntopia.

After four failed log-in attempts, Commerce accounts are locked. Locked accounts must either reset their password or be unlocked by an Inntopia administrator.

If you forget your password, you must reset your password using the Forgot Password? link on the Inntopia CRS or Inntopia RMS login screen.

Any user receiving a new account is required to change their password during their initial login.

CRS and RMS users see the following message upon logging in:

This system is for the use of authorized users only. Individuals using this computer system without authority, or in excess of their authority, are subject to having all of their activities on this system monitored and recorded by system personnel. In the course of monitoring individuals improperly using this system, or in the course of system maintenance, the activities of authorized users may also be monitored. Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals possible criminal activity, system personnel may provide the evidence of such monitoring to law enforcement officials.

Commerce user accounts not accessed in the last 12 months will be deactivated and the user will no longer have access to their account.

Commerce user accounts not accessed within 18 months will be removed from the Inntopia system.

All Commerce user sessions timeout after 90 minutes of inactivity. After 90 minutes of inactivity, you must log in again.
