Online User Session Timeout
To prevent unauthorized users from completing a check-out, you can have Inntopia staff activate a session expiration setting for your sales channel based on either timeout or closing the browser. When a user session expires, the user must then log back in to continue the session; however, information entered prior to expiration remains intact and does not need to be re-entered.
If an online user has selected the Continue as Guest option and the session expires, the user can fill in the fields on the log in screen for Name and Email (Create Account Later). When they receive a message stating that the email address already exists, the user can again click Continue as Guest to be redirected to the Billing Info screen without losing information previously entered.
Note: If the browser is set to reopen or remember the last browser session, the user is not logged out and the browser will open to the last page of the user session.

To activate this feature, submit an Innteract request with the following information:
- Sales Channel ID
- Specify one of the following session expiration methods:
- Browser Session — User session expires upon closing the internet browser. (Closing a browser tab does not end a user session.)
- Timer — User session expires after a set amount of time or when the internet browser is closed. Timeout expiration happens regardless of mouse or keyboard action. The 'Timer' clock becomes active when the user log’s in or create a user, and then resets every time they visit a page in the checkout flow.
- If using the Timer expiration method, indicate the amount of time, in seconds, that will elapse prior to the session expiring.
