Vertical Insure in Inntopia CRS
Inntopia’s integration with Vertical Insure allows partners to offer guests optional insurance offers during booking. Vertical Insure offerings are received in real time based on guest and itinerary detail. Offerings include:
- Trip Insurance – Offers up to three levels of protection.
- Basic – Offers up to 100% coverage of travel and lodging costs
- Plus – Offers up to 100% coverage of travel and lodging costs, as well as trip delay, luggage and belongings, emergency medical, and evacuation costs.
- Plus with Cancel for Any Reason – Offers up to 100% coverage of everything in Plus, as well as the option to be refunded if the trip is cancelled for any reason.
- Refund Insurance – Covers lift tickets, season passes, rentals, activities, and lodging.
- Accident/Injury Insurance – Reimburses up to $5,000 of out-of-pocket medical costs resulting from an accident or an injury that occurs during a covered activity.

If your company has set up the Inntopia + Vertical Insure integration, you can use the Add Insurance button on the Itinerary Window to get real-time insurance quotes for the itinerary that are based on guest and itinerary detail. You can then review the insurance offerings with the guest and accept or decline on their behalf.
- To add Vertical Insure coverage to an itinerary, follow the procedure for creating a new itinerary, including the steps for offering Vertical Insure coverage to the guest.

Vertical Insure products can be added to an existing itinerary up to 24 hours prior to the start of the reservation.
- Search for and open the reserved itinerary to which the guest wants to add Vertical Insure product(s).
- Follow the steps for offering Vertical Insure coverage to the guest.
- Proceed to final checkout.
Note: Attempts to generate a quote from Vertical Insure within the 24-hour window prior to the start of the reservation result in a message that no insurance coverage is available.

To modify or cancel Vertical Insure (VI) items on an itinerary through the Inntopia system, the itinerary must have been reserved within ten days or fewer and the start date of the reservation must not be in the past.
If the itinerary was reserved more than ten days ago, the only way to cancel VI items on an itinerary is for the guest to contact VI directly.
- Any adjustments or cancellations made by the guest directly through Vertical Insure can be expected to be made within two business days.
- Vertical Insure issues refunds directly to the guest via ACH request outside of the Inntopia system.
Once itinerary modifications are complete, you can re-offer insurance coverage to the guest.

A saved itinerary can be modified at any time prior to reserving; however, you must remove Vertical Insure items from the itinerary and then re-offer insurance to the guest after modifications are complete.
- Search for and open the itinerary the guest wants to modify.
- Remove the Vertical Insure product(s) from the itinerary.
- Modify the saved itinerary as the guest desires.
- Follow the steps for offering Vertical Insure coverage to the guest.
Note: The new insurance offers may have different pricing depending on the modifications made to the itinerary; therefore, you must review any updated offers and pricing as they appear on the screen.
- Save the new itinerary or proceed to final checkout.

If you modify or cancel an itinerary that was reserved fewer than ten days ago, you can cancel and/or re-offer Vertical Insure items through Inntopia.

To modify a reserved itinerary within the allowed time to cancel Vertical Insure items:
- Search for and open the reserved itinerary.
- Follow the steps for modifying the reservation.
- Cancel all insurance items on the itinerary including Travel, Refund, and Accident/Injury.
- To re-quote insurance offerings for new or remaining itinerary items, follow the steps for offering Vertical Insure coverage to the guest.
Note: The new insurance offers may have different pricing depending on the modifications made to the itinerary; therefore, you must review any updated offers and pricing as they appear on the screen.
- Proceed to final checkout.

To cancel a reserved itinerary item within the allowed time to cancel Vertical Insure items:
- Search for and open the reserved itinerary.
- Follow the steps for canceling an individual item on the reservation.
- Cancel all insurance items on the itinerary including Travel, Refund, and Accident/Injury.
- To re-quote insurance offerings for remaining itinerary items, follow the steps for offering Vertical Insure coverage to the guest.

To cancel a reserved itinerary item within the allowed time to cancel Vertical Insure items:
- Search for and open the reserved itinerary.
- Follow the steps for canceling the entire reservation. The insurance items will remain on the itinerary.
- Cancel all insurance items on the itinerary including Travel, Refund, and Accident/Injury.

To modify a guest's itinerary that was reserved more than ten days ago, the agent must cancel the original itinerary and rebook a new itinerary. To cancel the Vertical Insure items, the guest must contact Vertical Insure directly according to the instructions in their confirmation email received from Vertical Insure.

- Search for and open the reserved itinerary.
- Follow the steps for canceling the entire reservation.
- Leave existing insurance items in place as they can no longer be cancelled through Inntopia.
- Instruct the guest to contact Vertical Insure directly according to the instructions in the confirmation email they received from Vertical to cancel the coverage of any specific activities and the overall Trip/Refund insurance and request a refund.
